Why actually use a pruning saw? What are the advantages and differences between a pruning saw and a conventional petrol chainsaw?

Petrol chainsaws are generally heavier and therefore not as convenient for tree care as the KS226, for example, which is much easier to handle and lighter.The only difference is often in the engine power, which is correspondingly more powerful in "large" chainsaws. If you are looking for compact flexibility, then the FX-KS226 is just right for you!

The 2-stroke petrol saw KS226 weighs just 3 kg and is therefore very light to use. A big plus in terms of handling and safety. This is precisely why you choose a pruning saw. Its low weight makes it ideal for working in higher areas, such as the crown of a tree, where the chainsaw is mainly used for cutting branches and topping. Removing the top of a tree takes the pressure off the tree. If you own a wood-burning stove and provide your own firewood, you will need a two-hand chainsaw, but not this saw.

With a blade length of 30 cm (12 inches), our KS226 is ideal for limbing trees. As this can sometimes take longer, the weight of the saw is not irrelevant. The user therefore remains flexible and can concentrate fully on the "work". The cutting length for this blade length is 25 cm. The KS226 also allows the 12 inch blade to be replaced with a 10 inch blade (not included).
The maximum engine speed of the saw is 12,000 rpm and it has a displacement of 25.4 ccm. 0.7 kW of power gives it sufficient power for its areas of application. As a starting device, you have an Easy-Starter cable feed device at your disposal, which, as the name suggests, makes starting easy!

The oil tank for automatic chain lubrication contains 160 ml and can be easily refilled. The fuel tank is almost 230 ml. Due to the lower filling quantities, the weight of the chainsaw hardly increases and reliable and comfortable working is still guaranteed. The Top Handle petrol chainsaw has kickback protection with a mechanical chain brake, which ensures additional safety when working.
